National Travel Basketball Association Engages Bray & Long

Charlotte, North Carolina – January 22, 2013 – The National Travel Basketball Association (NTBA) is the brainchild of John Whitley, a long-time executive in the world of travel basketball and amateur athletic competition.  So when it came time to select a law firm to assist him in the NTBA’s development, he knew that his choice needed to bring experience in corporate law as well as sports law.

Whitley’s research led him to the law firm of Bray & Long, which was founded in 2003 by William Bray.  Based in Charlotte, the boutique firm’s business practice features work on behalf of small to mid-size companies in dozens of industries, including sports marketing and management.

John Whitley has the following to say about the NTBA’s relationship with Bray & Long: “The NTBA is excited to announce that it has retained Bray & Long, whose extensive experience in sports and business law is unique to firms in the Charlotte region.   They always pay attention to the small details, keeping the client’s needs in mind first.”

Bray & Long will assist the NTBA in all aspects of its development, from general corporate matters to licensing, marketing and intellectual property.  William Bray is the former Chairman of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Sports & Entertainment Law Section and will primarily handle the NTBA’s work.

According to Bray, “John Whitley’s vision for the NTBA is progressive and sure to propel it to the top of the amateur travel basketball world.  We firmly believe that the NTBA has found a good home with Bray & Long.  Our range of corporate and sports law services should address every need of the NTBA as it develops into a major player in the amateur sports market.”

Bray & Long is a boutique corporate and business law practice located in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Partners William Bray and Jeff Long are former “big firm” attorneys who now offer sophisticated legal services in an affordable, small firm setting.  The firm’s work is evenly split between business transactions and commercial litigation.  For more information on Bray & Long, visit their web site at or contact William Bray or Jeff Long by telephone at (704) 523-7777.
