(September 10, 2016) Charlie Bridgmon and Jeff Long recently represented the daughters and estate of a 75-year-old resident of Lancaster, South Carolina. The daughters’ mother was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident caused by a portable storage container flatbed truck. Despite the hospital’s tremendous efforts to save their mother, she passed away as a result of the injuries she sustained. After the company’s insurer refused to make an offer to the family, Charlie and Jeff filed a wrongful death and survival action against the company and its driver. Charlie and Jeff successfully negotiated a settlement of all claims on behalf of the daughters and their mother’s estate in excess of $1,000,000.00.
This is the second wrongful death case in as many years Charlie and Jeff have successfully litigated resulting from the negligence of a commercial truck driver. Bray & Long, PLLC’s experienced litigators know and understand how to prepare complex cases for either a negotiated settlement or trial, depending upon each client’s best interest.
